Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha, who had been on ventilator for last 13 days, passed away of Coronavirus.
Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha tested positive for COVID-19 last month and was admitted to a private hospital. He was then shifted to the Multan Institute of Cardiology (MIC) as his condition worsened and his lungs stopped working.
Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha was a famous surgeon who stopped office work when the number of Coronavirus patients increased and started performing ward duty. His funeral prayers will be offered at NMU hostel ground today.
Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha was a Laparoscopic Surgeon and General Surgeon. He had a MBBS, FRCS and FCPS (Surgery) degree along with an experience of 24 years. He had 17 gold medals in MBBS and was also a gold medalist in FCPS. He was also a member of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Prof. was a very competent doctor who offered a number of services such as Oncological Surgery, Abdomen Colo-rectal Surgery, Abdominal Surgery, Breast Surgery, Emergency Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Hernia And Perinatal Surgery, Piles (Hemorrhoids), Fissure, Fistula Surgery, Upper GI Surgery, Advanced Hernia Surgeries and Bariatric Surgery, etc.

More 50 healthcare workers, including doctors, have lost their lives due to the deadly disease in Pakistan. As many as 5,367 healthcare providers had contracted the viral infection by June 30, according to health officials.
